BALANCE WITH RELATIONSHIPS!
On the week-end, Leanne and I went into the city, stayed in a hotel and spent over 24hrs laughing, talking, eating , drinking and just generally having an absolute ball. Just us girls, not being a mother, wife, daughter sister - just being us, relaxing and enjoying a small time where we don’t have to do anything for anyone else except ourselves.
This yearly pilgrimage is something that we have embarked on for many years,. We have always valued our friendship and acknowledge that we both have very busy lives and know the importance of getting away to spend some time together and have some real fun.
REFLECTION
While we were sitting in the club lounge, reading the daily papers and just generally chit chatting, we got talking to a lovely couple from Sydney.
We told her why we were in the city and she confided in us that she has spent all her time and energy into her marriage and in doing so had perhaps lost contact with close girlfriends.
She vowed that when she went back to Sydney, she would re-connect with old friends and suggest a catch up like ours.
BUSY LIVES
How hard is it with our busy lives to keep all our relationships balanced?
I think it’s a real juggling act and takes quite a lot of planning and consideration to ensure that we are nurturing our close relationships, with others and most importantly ourselves.
Why don’t you do an exercise where you write down all your significant relationships and how you are actively participating in them.
Do they bring you joy?
How can you take some simple steps to re-connect with some that need your attention?
Make that phone you call you keep meaning to, send an e-mail to ask how they are going, write a card and post it.
Simple heart felt things can mean more than doing things when you feel you “should”.
CHANGES
As you go through life, relationships change, people come and go. What is really important is to find a balance that works for you. Catch ups with some can be once or twice a year but incredibly enriching, others more frequently.
Take a look around, see where your energy and attention is going – if you don’t like what you see or feel perhaps write a list of what you would like your life to look like and then formulate some small steps to work towards that goal.
ACTION
Or better still, make a vision board by cutting out pictures that represent what you want your relationships and life to look like – pin it up where you can look at it everyday and remind yourself of what you are working towards. A very powerful tool in creating what you want.
Be reflective, get creative and find ...

CREATE THE LIFE YOU WANT
Reflection
What were you doing 12 months ago?How has that impacted on your life now?
Decisions we make and action we take have resonating affects down the track. How often do we sit down and gently reflect on where we have been, what maybe happening in our lives right now could be a direct result of our experiences and choices 6-12 months ago.
I am amazed at how much has transpired in my life over the past 12 months. I think I have experienced every possible emotion from the most wonderful highs to as low as you could possibly go!In saying that, it has meant that right now I am wiser, happier, and more open to new and wonderful experiences.
I have learnt "this too shall pass!"
I understand the miracle of trust, faith and that now, I can choose to experience things easily and joyfully.
I have developed a deep sense of gratitude.
On reflection I have realised that out of pain, hardship and anguish, there is a light that shines bright and through determination and with an intention of never giving up, that light will become brighter.
Six months ago, my world was very dark and difficult but everyday a choice was made, to do another day! That choice I made, even when sometimes I could only do a minute at a time - has lead me to today, where I now tread lighter, have great respect for where I have been and developed greater compassion for myself.
By reflecting on where I have been , facing today's decisions and choices has greater meaning and awareness. Everything I do and think right now will have an impact on my life in another 6-12 months.
AN EXAMPLE
For example, I looked at my legs the other day and realised that they were firm and my muscles tight. This is a direct result of my decision 6 months ago to start jogging, I laugh now as I have not done any jogging for about 25 years, so my choice was to get fit, start slowly and then gradually build up. The result six months later - firm legs, and my ability to jog for 45 mins! Of course this action has had many other benefits, I am fitter, healthier, feel good about myself, I have a sense of achievement and accomplishment, the list goes on!
So what do I want my life to look and feel like in another 6-12 months?
Just asking these questions, opens you up to a tremendous opportunity -
Be conscious , be aware and make a choice or decision that will lead you to where you want to be in another 6-12 months.
Be active in your own life.
Take responsibility for your own life.
You deserve the most wonderful life.
Are you taking steps and making choices so that your life is and will be all that you deserve.
Reflect today , where you were 12 months ago.Start taking notes or writing in a diary where you are now, how you are feeling and what you want to see and experince in your life.
Then everyday make a choice that will be pr ...
LIFE'S PURPOSE

I spent a great deal of today and in fact this weekend contemplating my life’s purpose.
I love my life and who I am but circumstances lately have got me wondering.
I don’t think it is to feed the starving in Africa or find the cure for some dreadful disease. After much asking and waiting for answers I have come up with My Life’s Purpose. Here it is:
To be the best me I can be.
This has been like a mantra for me for a long time but today it hit me, ‘that is why I’m here.’ Why I have gone through so much this lifetime. Had more heartache than I care to think about and yet I’m still here. Still trying.
To Be The Best Me I Can Be.
We are human beings, not human doings, or human receiving’s or even human savings. Just beings.
If I make it my intention each morning: To Be the Best Me I Can Be and live each day with that in my heart, then I believe I will be the best me I can be. I can do nothing more than my best.
Thought I’d share that.

IT'S - 'WORLD BEST FRIENDS WEEK'
Think about this for a minute....
If you happened to show up on my door step crying, I would care!
If you called me and asked
me to pick you up because something happened, I would come!
If you had one day left to live your life, I would want to be part of
that last day!
If you needed a shoulder to cry on, I would give you mine!
Do you know what the relationship is between your two eyes?
They blink together,
they move together,
they cry together,
they see things together,
and they sleep together,
but they never see each other;
.....that's what friendship is.
